There have been times when I wondered what my life would have been if only I had understood the impact of knowing my worth. Without any extensive self-assessments, I know my relationship choices would have been different.  Hmm…I guess it’s okay to wonder, without spending considerable time feeling disheartened about what coulda shoulda woulda.

My childhood memories include growing up in Rancho Cordova, California as a Brownie and then a Girl Scout for many years. Through those organized program activities, I was introduced to basic leadership skills, courage, team-building, adventure, and confidence – especially when I was one of the top Girl Scout cookie sellers. So, I can say I was familiar with self-worth on a surface level.

What is the Meaning of Self-Worth and Self-Value?

Self-worth and self-value are two related terms that are often used interchangeably. Having a sense of self-worth means that you value yourself, and having a sense of self-value means that you are worthy. The differences between the two are minimal enough that both terms can be used to describe the same general concept.

Many people battle with knowing (and communicating) their value which ultimately affects their relationships and career decisions to say the least.

Powerful Videos

Instead of potentially overwhelming boring you with a lot of talk about how knowing our self-worth and value influences every area of our lives, would you check out the following two videos.

1. YOUR VALUE

2. Know Your Worth, Then Ask For It

After reading this content and watching the videos, would you do me a favor? Would you share your feedback? I would really love to hear your personal stories as to when, or if, you discovered your value. Okay?

While you are discovering and assessing your self-worth, keep a few things in mind.

Maybe you’ve experienced a “failed” relationship, felt stuck in your career, or felt “less than” after comparing your accomplishments with others. Regardless of what chipped away at your self-worth, you CAN rebuild your confidence in YOURSELF.

Final Thought

Know Your WORTH and do not settle for less than you DESERVE. One last thing is that you will encounter those who are unable to see your value, but don’t let their opinion become your reality.

  1. On your sign with the gem: When you learn how much “YOU’RE” worth… not “your”. Just trying to help.
