
‘School Choice is the Black Choice’
Sacramento, CA. The Education Town Hall ‘School Choice is the Black Choice’ comes to Sacramento with Roland Martin and Special Guests. This FREE two-hour event is OPEN TO THE PUBLIC and will take place TONIGHT Tuesday, April 23, from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at St. Paul Baptist Missionary Baptist Church, 3996 14th Avenue, Sacramento, California.
Roland Martin, a renowned African-American journalist, will be joined tonight by special guest panelists: Pastor Tecoy Porter – Sacramento Chapter President of National Action Network, CEO Margaret Fortune – President/CEO of Fortune Schools, Dr. Hazel Mahone – Professor at California State University Sacramento, Larry Lee – Publisher of the Sacramento Observer, and Romel Antoine – Director of Regulatory Affairs for California Charter Schools Association along with parents and students.
The Town Hall will include a panel discussion with Roland Martin, African American civic and faith leaders, along with parents and students to discuss public school choice in the black communities. Topics will discuss the Senate Bill (SB) 756 that will be heard the California Senate Education Committee at 9 a.m. on Wednesday, April 24. So, tonight’s Town Hall comes at a critical time for charter public school families.
