Have you ever been in pursuit of your dreams and become discouraged during the process? I have. The process of building a thriving business – Destiny Inspired Consulting, providing freelancing services on Fiverr and a money-making blog can be exhausting. Anyone who has a full-time day job, a family, and wants occasional ME time, exhaustion will certainly occur. Does that sound familiar?

There have been times when I wanted to throw my hands up and just say, “SCREW IT. I’M DONE!” It seemed easy to quit, however, I had to remind myself of the reasons WHY I started a consulting business and thriving blog. While I know my business and blog will, one day, be a great source of six-figure income, my initial reason for starting Destiny Inspired Consulting and starting a blog came from the desire to help others and to share my journey. Therefore, when I get tired and frustrated pursuing “success,” I have to remind myself WHY I started in the beginning.

I started noticing that the most frustration occurred when I had to learn a new skill to grow my business. For instance, I run a blog and consulting business, but that includes me learning various mediums to communicate my blogs and services. I am not an expert videographer, however, I recognize videos are shared on social media significantly more than simple text. So, guess what? I have to spend time figuring out the most effective ways to incorporate videos into my business to increase the people I am able to share my information on a global level.

The expert in anything was once a beginner. Every pro was once an amateur. Many people have dreams yet are afraid to start. A motivational quote says, “Everything you want is on the other side of fear.” I agree. You will never become an expert, if you don’t actually get started. You have to start somewhere and you have to celebrate your small successes no matter what. Dream big and start now.

Think about the fact that everyone started somewhere. Sometimes we look at successful people now as if they became successful overnight. Before you know it, you will be the expert but you won’t know unless you get started. The problem kicks in when you compare yourself to an expert.

Sure you will hit roadblocks. You will get tired of marketing, strategizing, and executing your business plan. You may fail at something, but that is awesome because there is a lesson in every failure.

A few of things to keep in mind while pursuing your dreams:

  1. Do not compare yourself to anyone; you are an original.
  2. Push beyond your comfort zone.
  3. Remember WHY you started pursuing your dreams.
  4. Dream BIG!
  5. Do not be afraid to just GET STARTED.
  6. Study those individuals or companies who are successful in your niche.
  7. Celebrate all successes, big or small.
  8. The expert in anything was once a beginner.

Are there areas in your life where you need to be more intentional about celebrating successes?

I don’t care what it is just celebrate success. APPLAUD YOURSELF! If you fail at something, identify the lesson and celebrate the fact that you tried.

REMEMBER: Every PRO was once an AMATEUR! Every Expert was once a Beginner!

Everyone has the ability to dream, but not everyone has the tenacity and drive to chase their dreams. Remember, to JUST START, DREAM BIG, and CELEBRATE YOUR SUCCESSES! You’ve GOT this!
