Did you catch my previous post about the Journey to Sac Fashion Week?
Welp, I knew I owed y’all a BRIEF update from that previous post to share the HUGE SUCCESS of Saturday night’s Sacramento Fashion Week Runway Event (SacFW). The theme was of this year’s fashion “Fashion in the City.” The show was held in North Sacramento at The Rink Studios. Actually, the show was held on February 21 and 22, which 5 or 6 designers on their respective days. For some pretty obvious reasons, I attended the Saturday night show.
Let me start by sharing how proud I am of my favorite 16-year-old supermodel aka my daughter, Tyra Simone. I recognize I am a bit partial, however, Tyra SLAYED the runway. She had poise, swag, passion, and professionalism with every stride. Through a model casting call, Tyra had been selected to model for Zenzele Nuru partnered with Mario B, and Samantha Wall of Unlimited Fashions.
Tyra’s first look of the night was her hot pink, crochet 2-piece skirt outfit. Zenzele is a BEAST who crochets all her amazing designs. This was not your average 2-piece, it was an adorable mini skirt along with a top that included a wrap-around belt and exaggerated huge sleeves.

Tyra’s second look was her beautiful African print skirt from Samantha Wall at Unlimited Fashions. She came out with the skirt pulled up like a tube dress then, at the end of the runway, she pulled it down to show how it can also be a long full skirt. The skirt was accented with a black shirt and silver heels. Samantha Wall “specializes in women’s fashion and accessories.”

Thank you to Zenzele Nuru, Samantha Wall, Mario B, Cosmo Beauty Academy, DMR Productions and the Sacramento Fashion Week staff for an awesome showcase highlighting many talented designers, stylists, and models.
