Info Sharing: Got questions regarding IRS Stimulus Check?

Got Questions?

Do you have questions regarding the IRS Stimulus Check? I have had many many many questions about the checks, eligibility, etc. Until today, I didn’t know where to turn for answers to my specific questions. I had been checking IRS website, but wasn’t seeing much detail pertaining to COVID-19 and the stimulus checks.  However, IRS now has a dedicated website page. (As of 3/31/20

The IRS direct link is IRS.gov/coronavirus on the Coronavirus Tax Relief page.

Types of Questions and Responses

Once you get to that page, you will see a link for the Economic Impact Payment: What you need to know. From that page, you will be presented with responses to questions like, the following:

  • Who is eligible for the economic impact payment?
  • How will the IRS know where to send my payment?
  • The IRS does not have my direct deposit information. What can I do?
  • I am not typically required to file a tax return. Can I still receive my payment?
  • How can I file the tax return needed to receive my economic impact payment?
  • I have not filed my tax return for 2018 or 2019. Can I still receive an economic impact payment?
  • I need to file a tax return. How long are the economic impact payments available?
  • Where can I get more information?
